One day, a public need appeared to crate a new area for sports facilities at the municipality of Castell-Platja d’Aro. It was at that moment when we proposed to crate a Sports City starting from the spread of an hexagonal net formed by a modulation of different sizes depending on its function, from which several tiny streets appeared, giving acess to the indoor spaces. A net which allowed the extension and even agrupation of modules, depending on the population needs or demand.

 

The big modules strictly contain the most dinamyc uses, existing in two sizes: the biggest module -three times wider than the classroom module- used as indoor swiming pool, including its dressing rooms and bathrooms; the medium size modules -twice wider than the classroom module- condense the leasure and sports use, such as the restaurant, the gym or the dressing rooms and the warehouse attached to the athletics track.

 

The smaller modules are strictly destined to the classrooms.

 

Finally, the outdoor servant spaces shown as tiny streets, appear automatically after the liberation of modules , generating spaces to create these paths, that even in some situations create compressions and descompressions, emerging afterwards small squares to stay, enhancing the whole project.
